Overview

Solder and program PIC microcontroller to make your own functioning volt meter.

  • User programmable via USB or programing header.
  • USB powered or AC powered.
  • Three 8 segment LCD displays.
  • Large prototype area with headers for all the ports.
  • Header for LCD screen (LCD screen can be Purchased for additional $7.50 once in stock).

All Majors are welcome to sign up; but, it is recommended that you have some programing experience. The course will not be offered for credit but is a great resume and experience builder.



  New resistor calculator is added to the website, which can be used to calculate the resistor value based upon the color bands indicated on the resistor, Click on Resistance Calculator under the Informational menu for accessing it.



  Youtube Courses are added to the website, and can be accessed by clicking on Youtube courses under the Informational menu.

IEEE Presenting: Matlab Basics Seminar
Presenter: Josh Zagorski - IEEE UWM Student Branch Treasurer / EE Graduate Student
Date: Saturday, Oct. 11th 2008 - 12-2pm
Location: EMS E256 Computer Lab

Students of all majors are welcome to come and learn the basics of Matlab with an Interactive tutorial. Please confirm you are able to log into the CEAS computers prior to the seminar, this is a different login from the UWM computer labs or bring your own laptop with Matlab or Octave installed. Seating will be limited.

Matlab has a commercially available student edition available for roughly $100.
GNU Octave, an alternate program like Matlab for performing numeric calculations is freely available and can be found with a windows installer on Ocatave's Website
